It was learned from several sources that the operation of the defunct Sta. Clara lumber Company, Inc. started in Bantogon or Sebayor sometime in the 1940’s or earlier with a certain Mr. Castillio as the Manager. The advent of this Lumber Company in a way,has fast converted the area into a progressive community of company workers and employees. Families of company laborers began to immigrate to the place by the hundreds and more, finally becoming permanent residents who made up majority of the population.

As the years went by ,Sta.Clara lumber Company became the center of progress while trade flourished turning the place into some sort of a mini-city with all the power and lights so provided by the company. The place for so many years, became so famous with all its lights serving as guide to all types of vessels coming in to Kalamansig at night through its in-let and a glittering sight for all passengers on board.

Everybody was talking about Sta.Clara then not only as a company but a home to many. It was a real pride to be from Sta.Clara, so they Say. "I am going home to Sta.Clara “ or " I am from Sta.Clara”, was the language of commuters to and from the place then.

Schools, buildings, chapels, clinics, stores and other types of permanent structures including public ones, were erected and were mostly named after the company which was Sta.Clara until slowly and finally even the name of the barrio itself was referred to as Sta.Clara eventually replacing the real one which was Sebayor. Documents, they be public or private, has been bearing to the present the name Sta.Clara in terms of location of properties and address of owners. All mails and other postal materials carry, to date, the name Sta.Clara. All forms of written communication are sent and received using the name Sta.Clara as address.

A bit of a research has led the Website team to the information that old documents of property ownership from the office of the Municipal Assessor refer to Sebayor as a location for properties situated in today’s Brgy.Sta Clara. Isn’t this some kind of a complicated and misleading predicament as we are starting to promote tourism in Kalamansig? Visitors and tourists will naturally ask lots of questions about a certain place as their curiosity will be heightened up upon seeing and observing some beautiful features of the place they will go to and visit here. Let alone the fact that the national circumferential highway will be going through this barangay with two names attributed to it.

Let’s do something! We are here not to change things but to help out straighten up and fix up records the small way we can. Maybe we are misled too ourselves. Let’s find out. After all, what’s in a name anyway?
